HOUSTON, Texas – A man was sentenced with life imprisonment for raping a 23-month-old toddler and infecting her with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), genital herpes and Chlamydia.
Kalhan Rosenblatt mentioned in his article for Mail Online published on March 18 that a jury shared in court that the toddler needed reconstructive surgery after the horrific assault.
After deliberating for just an hour, the jury convicted 34-year-old David Wilson of child sex assault and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
In 2005, Wilson was accused of molesting two young girls and was found guilty of sexually assaulting a child. The child molester was sentenced to four years in prison.
After six years, Wilson has been found guilty once again for the same offense.
An article by Chris Murphy for The Mirror published on March 20 said that Wilson was charged with super aggravated sexual assault of a child, an enhanced charge considering the age of the victim who was 23 months old at the time.
Last November, the toddler was taken to a doctor where diagnostic tests revealed that she had HIV, genital herpes, and Chlamydia.
The victim needed to undergo a reconstructive surgery because of the severe infection brought by the assault.
A doctor who examined that toddler said she had to have been sexually abused because of the sexually transmitted diseases that were detected.
Upon testing the four people in the home where the child lived, only David Wilson was tested positive for HIV.
KTLA mentioned in an article published on March 18 that a 14-year-old girl spoke to the Children’s Assessment Center and confirmed that she had been having sex with Wilson for two years.
The girl, who claimed she is pregnant, was also tested positive for HIV and had herpes and Chlamydia.
