Ethel Booba delivers epic clapback on Twitter

TV personality turned Twitter royalty Ethel Booba never fails to deliver an accurate social commentary that always gets a nod of approval from most netizens. From being a sexy comedienne on screen, Ethel now elicits laughter on social media with her witty sarcasm and humorous comebacks, despite the 140-word limit on tweets.

And this Christmas, Ethel didn’t fail to deliver a present to her followers: an epic clapback to Sass Sasot, a blogger known as one of the most vocal supporters of the Duterte administration.

Now, it could be said that Ethel is the gift that keeps on giving.

Website SPOT.ph first picked up the hilarious tweet that read:

It was Ethel’s clever response to the post of Sass, who gave an advice on how to address tactless queries from aunties asking when you’ll get married. The blogger said that one should take cue from former president Noynoy Aquino, and just blame it on his predecessor, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Ethel’s witty response was no accident for it’s a parody of President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign promise that he will eradicate illegal drug trade within three to six months.

He was quoted as saying, “If elected president, give me three to six months, I will get rid of corruption, drugs, and criminality,” last February 2016 to a crowd at the Mariano Marcos State University in Batac, Ilocos Norte.

However, a few months into his term, the president asked for a bit of an extension. “Just give me [a] little extension of maybe another six months. I did not have any idea that there were hundreds of thousands already in the drug business,” Duterte explained during a press conference.

While Sass has yet to issue a sassy reply of her own, Ethel’s biggest burn has already clocked in 6,500 retweets, 22,100 likes, and 644 replies, based on a Trending News Portal report.

In another Twitter post, the comedienne also mimicked another Duterte line by replying to another tweet, since the president was known for dropping no-holds barred one-liners.
