A grieving Cat was found crying while lying on the burial plot of her deceased owner in Central Java, Indonesia.
This cat caught the attention of most bystanders. Some even tried giving her a new home, but they said she refused to follow them and preferred sleeping there every night for almost a year.
A concerned passer-by named Keli Keningau Prayitno, 28 years old, tried to adopt the cat and failed as the cat returned to the same spot – her owner’s small blue headstone.
Keli said: ‘Since the cat’s mother died she has stayed here at the grave. She does not want to go home. She has been here for almost a year.’
Keli also discovered that the deceased owner was an old lady named Kundari.
The cat occasionally stays in her former house, where she is fed by Kundari’s children, but returns to her owner’s grave right after.
It’s not the first time that a story like this one surfaced, as people likened this cat’s longing for her owner to Hachiko, a famously loyal dog from Japan.
