Khanitta 'Mint' Phasaeng inspired a lot of people when she admitted that she was a former garbage collector until she was crowned as a beauty queen.
The 17-year-old woman joined the national pageant in Thailand back in Sept. 25. With her beauty and brains, she managed to win the competition bringing home the crown as Miss Uncensored News 2015.
Prior to winning, she was with her 5 other family members. They are living in a 4 x 5 meter shack which is also used to keep the garbage that she and her mother would separate before throwing out.
When she was still 14, she needed to stop going to school because her mother couldn't affor the fees. This also aims to help his brother attain an education and lessen their expenses at home.
Later on, she was adopted by a salon owner who gave her the opportunity to finish Level 8. She knelt down in front of her mother as a sign of gratitude after winning the competition.
