- Teen actor and American GF responded to bashers questioning their live-in status and marital plans
- Villar said both of them are 18 and are free to decide what’s best for them
- He also said its his family—not his fiancee’s family—who has given their blessing
MANILA, Philippines – Amid the social media frenzy his engagement to American girlfriend Angillyn “Anggie” Gorens has caused, teen actor Robert “Buboy” Villar told bashers questioning their plans to back off.
On his Facebook, the ‘Kid Kulafu’ star stressed that both he and Gorens are 18 and are free to do what they want with their lives. He added he is marrying her for love and not for anything else.
“Hindi dahil sa Americana siya, mahal ko siya hindi dahil sa panlabas na anyo, mahal ko siya dahil totoo siya at magsasama kami habang buhay,” he said.
[It’s not because she’s an American, I love her not because out of her looks, I love her because she’s true and we are going to be together forever.]
Villar also clarified earlier reports stating that Gorens’ family is okay with the couple’s decision. He said it was his family who gave their blessing, and that his fiancée is free to decide for herself since she’s separated from her own family.
The actor’s lengthy post was preceded by an earlier post from Gorens explaining her situation.
According to her, she has been separated from them since she turned 18 years old. She also emphasized that they will have to accept her decision since she is now legally an adult and is free to decide for herself.
Oh well they found out they have to deal with it because me and buboy aren’t backing out we both love each other,” she said.
While the couple’s living-in arrangement and engagement has been generally well-received, it has also raised a few eyebrows — with some saying they are still too young and unprepared for married life.
