The X-Factor UK has seen a lot of talent come and go at the first auditions, a stage of the talent search where raw vocal and singing skills are put on display for the judge’s verdict.
What this last contestant sang got all the judges emotional and speechless, something you would not expect especially out of tough-nut Simon Cowell.
Josh Daniels auditioned a couple of years ago when he was 21 years old, a mechanic, and living with his beloved mother. He told the judges that he would sing Labrinth’s Jealous and why he chose that.
When he started singing, everyone was blown away.
The performance made Cheryl Fernandez-Versini burst into tears, asking for a hug, to which Josh happily obliged. All three judges gave him a 'yes'. Simon did not give a comment and was just silent. He was seen to be very emotional as he made his way out of the event place.
When asked about what happened, Simon shared to Loose Women's Ruth Langsford and Jane Moore, about the tearful audition: "… it was quite near when it all happened and I think it was the last audition and I wasn't really expecting what happened."
He added: "... and of course the lyric of the song and it was quite difficult because I thought, 'God this is going to be really hard to sit through this.'
Josh did not make it to the final stage of the talent search but has worked very hard and is now working with Jay Z’s record label, Roc Nation, for some new music. He now has a feature on a huge dance tune which was released last summer, and released his debut single and an upcoming album.
Watch the performance see why the judges cried!
