President Barrack Obama's became part of history when he won the US Presidency in the year 2009 as the first ever American-African ever to assume office.
He has inspired many with his speeches, has worked hard to make progress in the US economy, created jobs, brought back the auto-industry, and advocated human rights and gender equality. These are just some of Obama's major accomplishments of Obama over his two terms as the US' top public official. However, it was his personality, dedication, principles, and humor that won the hearts of the Americans. That is why many were emotional when he tearfully delivered his farewell speech yesterday, January 11,2016.
Obama talked about his term, his efforts in defending democracy and being grateful to all the people who supported him. In one part of the speech, he thanked his wife, Michelle Obama, which made him cry as he spoke.
"Michelle LaVaughn Robinson of the South Side...
... for the past 25 years you have not only been my wife and mother of my children, you have been my best friend. You took on a role you didn’t ask for. And you made it your own with grace and with grit and with style, and good humor.You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model.
You have made me proud, and you have made the country proud," he said.
The video garnered positive comments from the netizens. They lauded Obama's love for his wife and family. Many also expressed their grief over his farewell and how they will miss hearing such amazing speeches.
