As much as we care for our face and body, our private parts need much attention as well.
Karen Boyle M.D., a health expert, says “Gynecologists don’t tell women these things are going to happen, and then women come in shocked that their vagina and vulva have completely changed over the course of a couple years.”
Here are some special tips on how can take care of your private parts:
1) Maintain Good Hygiene
Strong vaginal odor can indicate that something is wrong. Get rid of them by washing your vagina at least twice a day with a gentle soap. Avoid soaps with high alkaline content. Also try washing your vagina with chamomile tea. Use baby wipes which are odorless after urinating. This can keep out bacteria when using the toilet.
2) Have regular haircut or shaving
Pubic hair can retain bacteria and sweat! Having them regularly cut can help your vagina stay clean!
3) Use right underwear
Synthetic underwear can cause dermatitis, eczema and bacterial infections as vagina cannot breathe properly. Always wear underwear made of cotton or other natural materials.
4) Change Underwear regularly
Vaginal secretion can make your lady parts a breeding ground of bacteria. This can cause infections such as colpitis, cystitis or even uterine infections. Change your underwear everyday and twice a day when you have your period.
5) Don't put perfume on your vulva.
These perfumes can disturb the pH balance in your private part. Just stick with keeping it clean.
6) Visit your gynecologist regularly
This should be done at least 2x a year, especially women who are sexually active and are older than 21. PAP test and ultrasounds can monitor infections on your uterus and ovaries.
7) Make it taste better
Eating the right food can make actually change the taste of your vaginal juices. Eat more fruits rich with natural sugar such as apples, grapes, mangos and try to avoid onions, garlic, coffee, alcohol and spicy foods.
