The well-known “Queen of Philippine Horror Movies”, Lilia Cuntapay, is currently in need of medical attendance.
In an article that was posted on Manila Bulletin, it was disclosed that Cuntapay has sought the help of her colleagues through a video message.
“Kung nakikinig man ang mga concerned citizens, director co-workers, wala na ako sa showbiz dahil may sakit ako
[If concerned citizens are listening, director, co-workers, I am no longer in showbiz because I am sick],” explained Cuntapay.
The video of the 81-year-old actress was posted on the official Facebook page of the Cagayan Provincial Information Office. Reports said Cuntapay had experienced pain in her spinal column and she has been unable to walk since July 5. Due to her condition, the actress is not fit to work at present.
“Kung mahal niyo pa ako, any help will do [If you still love me, any help will do],” she pleaded to her colleagues, including Comedian Vice Ganda and Ang Probinsyano star, Coco Martin.
Cuntapay was brought to Gonzaga, Cagayan on August 3 by the Task Force Lingkod Cagayan (TFLC). TFLC assisted Cuntapay in recording the video, and in taking her home to Pili, Ilocos, where her only son lived.
The actress remains physically strong, but, the paramedics noted her condition is sensitive.

Cuntapay is most likely known for her debut role in the Filipino horror film series Shake Rattle and Roll.
She is dubbed as the “Queen of Philippine Horror Movies” due to her participation in many horror films.
The actress also starred in her first leading role, Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay, which won her as Best Actress in the 2011 CinemaOne Originals Digital Film Festival.
