Britney Spears is back. And she’s armed with a new album.
After a hiatus from the music scene, the pop icon has announced that she will be releasing her album titled “Glory” on August 26. This will be Britney’s first album since the release of “Britney Jean” in 2013.
“My new album & the beginning of a new era,” Britney tweeted Thursday, August 4.
Before announcing her new album, the 34-year-old pop star also released a single entitled “Make Me” with rapper G-Eazy. The track is expected to be part of the album “Glory”.
In her tweet, Britney also said that people who will pre-order her new album will get a free “Private Show” – the song she teased in an earlier commercial for a new fragrance.
“‘Private Show’ is inevitably a sexy song, and it promotes feeling sexy and girls feeling alive, and I think that’s fun for girls,” she said previously.
A former child star, Britney Spears is one of the most popular music icons in the 1990s up to the early 2000s. Her most remarkable hits were the songs “Oops, I Did It Again!”, “Lucky” and “Baby One More Time”.
But her career grew pale, following public pitfalls such as her controversial split with former husband and fellow pop icon Justin Timberlake. She has also fallen to drug dependence and was also admitted in a psychiatric ward for a while.
US Magazine said in its story that Britney has been excited to tell her fans what has she been working on earlier this year.
“It’s the best thing I’ve done in a long time. I’m proud of the work, and it’s very different; It’s not what you would think at all. But I’m not rushing anything. I just want it to be done right, so that my fans will truly appreciate it,” they quoted her interview with a fashion magazine where Britney was presumably talking about her new album.
