The other half of the phenomenal loveteam ‘AlDub’, Maine Mendoza, went to “Sunday Pinasaya” to thank her and Alden Richards’ supporters after the success of their first solo movie together as a loveteam.
Sunday PinaSaya is a Sunday noontime comedy-variety show broadcast by GMA Network and starred in by Marian Rivera, Ai Ai de las Alas, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola. Alden is also part of the show together with Barbie Forteza, Julie Anne San Jose, Joey Paras, Jerald Napoles, and Valeen Montenegro.
After jointly thanking their fans for their “Imagine You & Me” success, another piece of great news surprised the Pambansang Bae.
The Kapuso heartthrob has his hands full at the moment, and yet here comes another blessing. His album “Wish I May”, according to GMA Records, has officially reached 7X Platinum; something which Alden found so overwhelming that he turned emotional on the show.
Amid hard-to-control tears, he said: “Thank you po kasi hindi kayo bumibitaw. Kahit na ang dami nang nagdududa, ang daming naggi-give up sa akin. Thank you.” […for not losing your grip. Despite the many doubters and those who are giving up on me…]
He went on to say that he’s hoping that his supporters will believe who is true and has a good heart.
Marian Rivera was quick to console him; saying that: “Ang totoong fans, kahit anong marinig at makita, kung totoong mahal ka, hindi ka iiwan. ‘Yun ang totoong nagmamahal.” [The true fans, whatever they hear or see, if they truly love you, they won’t leave you. They are the ones who truly love you.]
On a lighter note, Marian also teases Alden: “Saan ka pa? Ang ganda na ng movie n’yo, nag-hit pa. May Maine ka na, may Platinum ka pa!”
Interestingly, the album had earlier in October of last year earned its gold award even before it could be launched – and such magic may also be attributed perhaps to the popularity of his loveteam with Maine, who’s dubbed as the dubsmash queen.
Watch his emotional acceptance of the 7X Platinum on Sunday’s Pinasaya.
His album includes cover songs: “Thinking Out Loud” and “God Gave Me You” which were made more popular due to the ‘kalyeserye’” plus two original singles, “Urong Sulong” and “Wish I may” — which is the carrier single.
