It was an unfortunate day for one of our Pinoy Pride Albert Pagara who lost his WBO intercontinental super bantamweight title on the much awaited fight with Cesar Juarez.
Pagara was a highly praised for being an upcoming Filipino boxer. His fight with Juarez is the main event of Pinoy Pride 37: Fists of the Future. He had an early adv@ntage as he was able to land a left hook to the jaw that sent Suarez in the floor in the last 10 seconds if the first round. But he was able to get back up.
Juarez gained more momentum as the fight progressed.
At the start of round 4 onwards, Juarez started to dominate the ring as Pagara was sent to the corner many times. At the sixth round, Pagara was trying to level up his game but the seventh round was clearly on Juarez.
Eight round ended the game when Juarez relentlessly rained punches on Pagara. The pinoy boxer has lost his focus and was caught off-guard.
Juarez had him cornered in which the mexican has landed three punches on his head. This sent him to the canvass. He tried to get back up in the 10-second count but he was obviously groggy and can’t get to his feet. The fight was then waved off.
This is the first loss record of the young Pagara while Juarez made a comeback after back-to-back losses, one of which is from Nonito Donaire, a renowned Filipino Boxer as well.
Currently, Pagara’s record is 26-1 with 18 knockouts.
