- Activist-tour guide Carlos Celdran lashed out anew at Duterte supporters over the slain criminology student in Manila
- Celdran lambasted the supporters of the President for electing a ‘monster’
- He also insisted the student was not a drug pusher, contrary to the police’s claim
MANILA, Philippines – Controversial tour-guide activist Carlos Celdran is once again on the warpath against the supporters of the newly-elected president whom he called “Duterte morons” and “a***oles” over the killing of a criminology student in a buy-bust operation in Manila.
In a Facebook post on July 21, Celdran minces no words in lashing out at the supporters of Rodrigo Duterte for supposedly electing a “monster” into the highest office of the land.
“[invectives] … all you Duterte morons who voted for that monster and his useless mindless bloodbath,” Celdran wrote.
“This scholar’s blood is on your hands. Sleep well, a***oles, and thanks for killing our country. One innocent at a time,” he said.
The ‘scholar’ Celdran is referring to is Jefferson Bunuan; a 20-year-old criminology student at EARIST who was killed along with his 18-year-old cousin in a drug operation in Sta. Ana, Manila.
Bunuan’s family claimed the student was not a drug runner; contrary to the police’s claim. He was supposedly sleeping with his cousin in the target’s house during the shootout due to lack of space in their own house.
However, police insisted the Bunuan cousins and suspected druglord Jomar “Totong” Manaois fought back; prompting authorities to shoot them dead.
In another post, Celdran shared a video of Bunuan’s wake where the slain student’s mother is crying hysterically.
“This is the mother of the scholar killed by Duterte’s war on drugs. Listen to her cry. It breaks my heart,” Celdran captioned the video.
He also lamented why Duterte supporters seemed eerily silent over the unfortunate incident and asked whether the President himself has addressed the worsening situation of extra-judicial killings in the country.
“Nope, and we will not because Du30 and his minions think killing people like Jefferson is fine. Murdering innocents who get caught in the crossfire are all part of the “cleansing” process,” Celdran said. “Their excuses are b******t. Du30 and his followers think killing people like Jefferson is fine because he’s poor.”
In his latest post on the subject, Celdran again reminded those who voted for Duterte that blood is in their hands over Bunuan’s death, and insist the latter is not a drug pusher.
He wrote: “Dear 16 million people who voted for Digong: Meet Jefferson Bunuan. He was not a drug pusher. He was a scholar. Please take the time to know him. After all, his blood is on your hands.”
Celdran is a staunch Duterte critic and is known to have campaigned hard for the administration bets former Interior secretary Mar Roxas and now-elected Vice President Leni Robredo.
