Actress Anne Curtis has enthusiastically revealed that she his currently undergoing a thorough kali martial arts training in preparation for her movie directed by Erik Matti and acting with Filipino–American MMA, star Brandon Vera. “Excited ako kasi nga hindi ko pa siya ginagawa and it’s actually always been something that I’ve wanted to do. Game kaagad. Ine-enjoy ko siya. I guess it helps that I’m also very active. Doing something na challenging excites me.”
She added that she is trying her very best to learn from her training because she wants herself to do all her stunts in the upcoming movie. “No to doubles. That’s why I’m really putting in so much effort. I told this to direk na kung puwede ako talaga. Seryoso talaga kaya inaaral ko as much as I can kahit pasa pasa na ako, okay lang.”
Meanwhile, Vera was actually impressed with Curtis’ improvements in spite the short, not even a month, training. “I’m very interested in watching Anne train. Nakita ko ‘yung first day niya. From first day to day six, ibang tao na talaga. Natututo siyang mahusay, maayos. I don’t know how to explain it in Tagalog but she’s a beast. If you’re lucky enough to watch Anne train, you can see how focused she is.”
Vera even went as far as saying that he needs a lot of catching up to do since Curtis has undergone a 3-hour training each day for a week. “Nakakanerbyos. It’s my first project. I get to co-star in an amazing movie directed by Erik Matti, and come on, the lead is Anne Curtis. I have some big shoes to fill. Mahirap ito but kaya ko. Kayang kaya ko.”
The action-drama movie is still unnamed but was reported that it will be shown in theaters internationally.
On the other hand, Vera also shared that he now lives in the Philippines for good. Vera’s father, Ernesto, actually grew up in Quezon province. “Nandito na ako sa Pilipinas. I live here now. I just found out I’m a dual citizen at birth. I’ll be at the consulate on Monday to pick up my passport. Super excited to be here. Nandito na ako. Pilipinas, sa inyo na ako.”
