- Davao City mayor bared his reason for being angry at VP Binay
- He said it was Binay, not Roxas, who was behind his disqualification case
- He also attests to the reliability of the source of his information
MANILA, Philippines – If his source is to be believed, it was President Jejomar Binay who was secretly trying to disqualify him in the shadows.
During the birthday part of his ex-wife Elizabeth Zimmerman in Cebu last Wednesday, April 13, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said the reason why he is so angry at Binay is because the latter was supposedly the one who was financing his disqualification case before the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
“Alam mo kung bakit galit ako kay Binay? S’ya ang nag-fund nu’ng disqualification ko,” ABS-CBN quoted Duterte as saying.

Duterte, who admitted he originally thought Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Mar Roxas was behind it, said he could attest to the reliability of the source of his information.
“Nalaman ko [I found out]. A-1, credible ang source,” he said.
At least three disqualification cases questioning Duterte’s certificate of candidacy (COC) were earlier filed before the Comelec. All three have been dismissed.
Duterte and Binay have been at each other’s throats ever since poll surveys have placed the former as the new frontrunner in the presidential race.
Once chummy with Duterte, the Vice President has often brought up the mayor’s human rights track record and urged the public not to vote for an executioner like him.
On the other hand, Duterte said the public will stand to suffer if Binay — who is dogged by corruption allegations — will become president and dip his hands in government coffers.
