ACAPULCO, Mexico – Tourists in Mexico were left shocked upon seeing a huge four-meter long sea creature washed up on a beach which looked so bizarre, it has been baffling oceanic experts.
Jon Dean mentioned in his article for The Mirror published on March 10 that the huge weird-looking creature was found by tourists early in the morning while on Bonfil Beach, in the city of Acapulco, in the south-west Mexican state of Guerrero.
The shocked tourists took snaps of the huge sea creature and uploaded them on social media, where online users were left equally stunned.
The body of the creature was possibly floating on the ocean when it was brought to the shore by strong waves that have been affecting that particular part of the Mexican coast.
An article by Nicholas Reilly for Metro published March 11 said that Rosa Camacho, the coordinator of the Civil Guard and Fire Brigade, believes that the animal had not been dead for a long time, however, it still seemed to have rapidly started to decay.
“We have no idea what type of animal this is, but I do know that it does not smell bad or have a fetid aroma,” the coordinator said.
“It is four meters long and was found on Bonfil Beach,” Camacho added.
Many photos of the strange creature have been seen and shared online thousands of times and now have provoked a debate about what kind of animal it is.
John Hall mentioned in his article for The Sun published on March 11 that many of the online users suggested that the creature might be a type of giant squid while others said it is a whale.
