- An alleged cop was caught on camera hitting a motorcycle rider in the middle of the road
- It’s not clear what angered the man wearing a PNP shirt, but it is believed to be another case of road rage – involving a cop
- The short clip went viral on social media
- Facebook users unites in condemning the alleged police officer for his ‘abusive’ actions
MANILA, Philippines – A man wearing what looked like a Philippine National Police (PNP) shirt is in hot water on social media after he was captured in a video hitting another motorist riding a motorcycle.
In the viral video shared on several Facebook pages including Top Gear and the Filipino Community, the visibly incensed man -who is believed to be a cop – confronted the man in the bike for yet unknown reasons.
The short clip did not show what angered the alleged police officer, but the altercation may have something to do with the traffic; possibly the bike hitting the cop’s vehicle.
In the video, the angry cop can be seen giving the poor motorist a mouthful before hitting him in the face, although the victim was lucky enough to be wearing a helmet.
After the bike rider pulled over, the police officer followed him and drove his own AUV by the roadside before confronting the man for the second time.
Again, it’s not clear how the confrontation ended but the alleged ‘abusive’ cop was immediately chastised online by irate netizens.
“Police like this should not be allowed to wear uniform..he’s making other decent police officers look bad,” one commenter wrote on the Top Gear thread.
Another annoyed FB user said: “This guy is a shame to every straight cop being paid less than they deserve. Whatever happened to protect and serve?”
“This man should lose his job. This man should also be charged by the government for assault and abusing his position!” added another.
The video went viral on Facebook with more than 18,200 shares on Top Gear alone. Users are also flooding the post with angry comments; mostly directed at the man in PNP shirt.
But since there’s always two sides to a story, this page is open to the concerned parties to share theirs.
