A man found himself stuck in an avalanche earlier this week in Utah, United States.
Fortunately for him, he had the necessary equipment to survive, but more than that — he also has a brother who saved his life.
“It sounded like thunder rolling through the trees. You could hear limbs breaking and trees snappin’… it was scary,” said Kaden Francis.
As he reportedly heard this sound, he then realized his 20-year-old brother Trace was trapped, “and I called over the radio and said ‘avalanche, avalanche’… Trace is buried.”
Lucky for Trace, he had the proper equipment to survive and a brother searching for him.
His brother was buried under the thick, heavy snow; his head barely above the surface.
“I started running towards him, he’s only 50 yards away from me up the hill, but with that deep of snow it felt like it took me an hour to get to him,” Francis recalled.
Fortunately, his brother was well, but his foot was caught between the snowmobile and a tree.
It took 45 minutes for Trace’s brother, father, and uncle to pull him off from the snow.
The snowmobile was crushed, but luckily Trace walked away unharmed.
Such a relief!
