Jasmine Curtis-Smith won the “Best Supporting Actress” award in the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival’s Gabi ng Parangal held on December 27, 2017. The actress became emotional when she received her award and gave her acceptance speech.
She thanked both her mother and her father for being supportive. She also thanked her boyfriend, Jeff Ortega, for teaching her how to surf. Of course, the actress did not forget to thank the Lord for the projects that she has been receiving. Below is her entire acceptance speech:
“I wanna thank my mom for always being supportive, my dad, of course. My boyfriend, Jeff Ortega for teaching me how to surf. For making me love the beach even more. Thank you Lord because it’s been a tough two years for me and though wala akong network, meron pa rin akong mga trabaho na natatanggap.
However, a lot of people noticed that the award-winning actress failed to mention her sister, Anne Curtis-Smith, who introduced her into the showbiz industry.
Still, her sister did not seem to mind. Anne expressed how happy she was for Jasmine, even posting a congratulatory message on
Instagram:
“Congratulations to my beautiful baby sestra @jascurtissmith for winning BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS for the film SIARGAO at this year’s MMFF. I told you you were awesome in the film and everyone that’s seen it has told me so too. Very much deserved sestra. I love you and I am very very proud of you!!!
