Veteran folk musician Freddie Aguilar’s, Ka Freddie, house in Quezon City was hit by fire on Tuesday night, January 2, 2018. In a report made by GMA News, the fire started at 11:06 P.M. and was put out at 11:39 P.M.
According Jeriko, Ka Freddie’s son, he was in the music room situated in the ground floor when he heard bursting noises coming from another room. Upon stepping out, he said that their ceiling was already on fire.

Among these were his original recordings, awards, and musical instruments. The only item that Ka Freddie managed to retrieve was his guitar that costs $ 5,000.
He said,
“Iyong mga CD na pinaghirapan ko, ewan ko kung buhay mga records sana. Nandiyan iyong mga bestseller ko na album, mga di pa nabuksan. Pero okay lang, at least walang buhay na nawala.”
The damage brought by the fire been estimated to have cost up to PHP 20 million. Insp. Rosendo Cabillan ng BFP reported that 70% of Freddie Aguilar ’s home was gutted by the fire. He also said that the cause of the unwelcome incident might be electrical system overload.
Insp. Cabillan also advised the public to monitor the electrical wirings given the probable increase of appliances and gadgets at home.
