There is an abundance of beautiful celebrity homes that have been featured in magazines and television shows. Not only do these homes serve as a physical manifestation of the celebrity’s hard work but it also becomes an extension of their being. By looking at one’s house, you have a few ideas about what they enjoy and appreciate. Take for example Kyla and Rich Alvarez‘s Japanese-inspired home.
Rich Alvarez was a Japanese-born Filipino that became a basketball superstar. He was actually the one that bought the property in the first place and helped in its construction, way before he and Kyla got married. Right off the bat, you know why he chose this particular motif for his home.
Then the celebrities opened their doors to Kris Aquino back in August 2015 for a “Kris TV” appearance. Kris couldn’t help but admire the now-expensive property and the house’s brilliant design from the get-go. White walls and high ceilings brightened the room and made it appear bigger than it usually is. There were also square-patterned tiles, windows, and other furniture pieces, like ornate cabinets and Japanese samurai swords, that are reminiscent of homes back in Japan.
But the brightness offered by the bonsai plants and vines surrounding their home also added a refreshing element to their property. Kyla and Rich Alvarez shared that the construction of the place started way back in 2005 and was completely finished one year later. The basketball star initially bought and built the place for himself but when the couple wed in 2011, the beautiful, modern Japanese-inspired home became their beloved sanctuary where they spend time with their son Toby.
