On December 17, “Asia’s Got Talent” judge Anggun wowed the crowd of Kapamilya Sunday show “ASAP” when she performed her song “What We Remember” off her most recent album titled “8.” The Indonesian superstar sang while wearing a fitted white ensemble which added class and grace to her already obvious beauty and jaw-dropping talent.
According to ABS-CBN, this isn’t the first time that the 43-year-old Indonesian singer-songwriter made her way to the Philippines. In the past, she visited the country to promote her breakout international single, “Snow on the Sahara,” which was released worldwide in 1997 to at least 33 countries.
Anggun expressed her gratitude to her Filipino fans while admitting that Filipinos and Indonesians have a lot in common, particularly a mutual love for music.
She was quoted as saying:
“The people here in the Philippines are known to be so sweet, so kind and so beautiful.”
Anggun is of Indonesian-French descent and she was born and raised in Jakarta. Ever since she was a little girl, she already knew what path she wanted to pursue. In fact, she started her career as a performer as early as seven years old. During her pre-teenage years, she received plenty of offers to sign to a number of record labels. Her mother served as her manager while her father helped train her voice.
She was able to release her first album, “Dunia Aku Punya,” at the tender age of 12. Her love for music led her to a successful career that eventually took her to Europe and beyond.
Anggun is set to perform at the Eastwood Mall Open Park with “The Voice Kids” contestant Edray Teodoro. Prior to her upcoming performance with the young singer, Anggun serenaded the crowd at Uptown Bonifacio on December 16 with “The Voice Teens” finalist Isabela Vinzon.
