Award-winning director Joey Reyes is known to be an opinionated man. He usually has reactions to things that are currently viral—whether it’s negative or positive feedback. Even though he’s very
opinionated, people still seem to value his thoughts.
Just recently, the 63-year-old director learned about the issue of the woman who slapped an old taxi driver because of road rage. Sharing his thoughts through his personal media account, he tweeted:
“I just viewed a video going viral on Facebook where a young woman angrily slapped an old taxi driver because of their altercation. Have we reached that point of entitlement where one’s station in life can actually affirm such uncivilized behavior?”
He posted a follow-up tweet that said:
“Regardless of who was right or wrong, no one has the right to slap an old man just because you drive a private car and he is on the road earning a living.
Now who is more wrong in this situation?”
Netizens replied to his tweet, the director even answered back as a sign of interaction.
“Empathy. Compassion. Two qualities we dont show often,” a female netizen said, making the “Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo” director agree.
“So true. The vulgarian behavior of the young woman and her physical abuse of an old man just goes to show that money is not the measure of ANYTHING except money,” he replied.
“Agree. Nasobrahan naman po yun. Baka po Mashado nanonood ng drama at Prang mashado carried away?” Another netizen commented.
Director Joey Reyes answered once more:
“Napanood mo ba? Awang-awa ako sa matandang driver. Nobody deserves to be humiliated and treated that way. Naghahanap ng award-winning performance si Ate Girl.”
