On October last year, news of Mark Anthony Fernandez being arrested for possession of marijuana made rounds in the internet. The actor was held and detained at Angeles, Pampanga.
It can be recalled that the former matinee idol was, according to the police, caught in a police check point. He tried to escape but to no avail, after the authorities’ busted the actor’s car’s tires. One kilo of marijuana amounting to PHP15,000 was found in the vehicle.
Mark Anthony was faced with a lawsuit after violating Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Fast forward to today, the actor’s unfortunate situation took a sudden turn after he was reported to have been released from jail.
His ex-girlfriend, Claudine Barretto, couldn’t hide her happiness and took to social media to spread the news about the Mark Anthony’s release.
She posted a screenshot of a post from her relative, Margaret Barretto, with the words “I’m so so happy Mark Anthony Fernandez is finally home!”, and wrote in the caption the hashtags “#GODISGOOD” and “#THANKYOULORD”.
Many followers of the Teleserye Queen celebrated with her upon hearing the news.

Be that as it may, this Christmas is sure to be a merry one for Mark Anthony.
