With her new role at GMA's D'Originals, fans have been dying to know if Meg Imperial will soon be switching networks.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on Monday, March 20, the sexy actress confirmed that she will be part of GMA's latest teleserye but clarified that she will not exclusively work with GMA.
According to Meg, she did not sign an exclusive contract with the Kapuso network and is still a freelance actress.
"I’m still with Viva," Meg clarified. "But I didn’t sign any contract with the networks, so, I’m a freelancer. I can do...right now I do a show with GMA since kinuha po ako ni Direk [Adolf Alix Jr.] na nakatrabaho ko naman po dati sa Chain Mail."
In the interview with PEP, Meg talked about her new teleserye as well as her current movie 'Higanti', directed by Rommel Ricafort and produced by Gitana Films.
"Right now, nilabas na 'ata nila yung trailer or teaser, I mean, for D'Originals. It’s on the other network naman po, which is GMA."
The actress also explained that she is open to taking projects from other networks as long as an opportunity is provided.
"I think it’s not my decision, but the opportunity that comes along po. Bakit naman po ako tatangi sa trabaho? Because we all need work naman po."
"So, kung saan po ako dalhin ng opportunity I’ll grab na lang and I’ll take care of it."
Meg added: "For now, I know isang show pa lang po ako. I don’t know kung magtutuluy-tuloy po. But looking forward for more work, of course. Right now, siguro per show Lang po muna and I still do shows naman po with ABS like kaka-guest kop Lang again as manila as Family Feud and Umagang Kay Ganda."
So why didn't she sign an exclusive contract with the Kapamilya network?
Meg answered: "I don’t want to sign naman ng walang definite na ano, and my Viva family as well, ayaw nila na matengga ka na wala pang projects."
"So, as much as possible freelance muna and hindi naman ako pinapabayaan ng Viva. They give me projects din naman like films," she added.
Meg also opened up about her co-star and supposed rival, Kim Domingo.
"Well, it’s my first time working with her. Medyo siguro nagkakaanuhan kami, kilanlanan dahil first time naming magkita and first time to work," she said.
"Nagpakilala rin naman ako sa kanya, ‘Hi,’ and magkasama naman kami sa set at mas madalas kaming magkatrabaho. So, I guess, we’ll be good friends din naman."
When asked who she thought was hotter between her and Kim, Meg explained: "We both have different charisma when it comes to screen, so, let’s see. Kung siguro magkakaroon kami ng two different hatak sa tao. So, I’m excited for this as well."
"Actually, we both have the character naman or the angas. But I think, siguro my experience in showbiz is a far more experience na than her. So, I think so far ‘yan pa lang ang nakikita ko."
What do you think, dear readers? Should Meg continue being a freelancer or should she sign an exclusive contract with one of the 2 big networks? Let us know in the comments section!
