Parents need to go to work everyday to sustain the needs of their children. Because of this, parents choose between having a home nanny for their kids or make them stay in day care centers. A lot of mothers choose the latter as it is more convenient and affordable for most of them. In addition, they also believe that day care staff are trained professionals with best intentions for their children. However, there are always exceptions to the rule and this 52-year-old lady is one of them.
A day care director named Shawayne Tavares did not expect that something unexpected would happen in their day care facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her surveillance camera caught a member of their staff doing something horrifying to one of their children.
52-year-old Sarah Gable was caught on camera walking down the stairs with a 4-year-old girl. It was shocking to see that she suddenly pushed the little girl down the stairs, head first. When she noticed that a camera was watching her, she immediately grabbed the girl and acted as if nothing happened.
It was fortunate that Tavares was monitoring the camera at that particular moment. She immediately called the police to have Gable arrested. The girl did not sustain any serious injuries except bruised knees.
Gable’s attorney claimed that their camp will not issue any statement regarding the incident but they said Gable was pleased to know that the child was not seriously hurt. She faces charges of simple assault and endangering a child’s welfare. Newsner reported that her bail was set to US $ 25,000.
