Singer-actress-comedienne Toni Gonzaga appeared as a guest on ABS-CBN’s morning show “Magandang Buhay.”
Hosts Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal asked the Ultimate Multimedia Star how her pregnancy went, specifically if she did faint while giving birth.
Toni revealed that she was given anesthesia during the latter and more painful stages of labor.
She also said that she attended a class which educated her on the different stages of labor.
According to Toni, the first stage was the more cheerful and exciting period. “Nagla-labor na ako. This is it! We’re gonna have a baby,” she recalled
Toni then said that the second stage begins when the pain starts and pregnant mothers are ready to lash out. In Toni’s words, “Masama na yung panigin mo sa asawa mo.”
At that point, some pregnant mothers are expected to be quieter because their contractions are strong. However, Toni admits that she didn’t experience that quiet stage.
She said she was in labor for a day and a half. She also said everything was normal during her pregnancy.
Toni revealed that there was a chance she would’ve gotten a cesarean section because she was pushing for 2 to 3 hours. The actress remembered how hot and hungry she felt during those long early morning hours.
When the anesthesia wore off, Toni admitted that she did faint during childbirth because of the pain.
Toni gave birth to her baby boy Severiano Elliot with husband director Paul Soriano on September 30th of last year.
