Comedian, actor and singer Ogie Alcasid made it clear that his return to ABS-CBN after 25 years was never about money.
According to the article by Rachelle Siazon of PEP, Alcasid denied that money was the reason why he went back to the Kapamilya Network. He said he didn’t like to talk about money because it was ‘unethical’ for him to do so. The singer stated that money was not a priority for him.
“’Yung usaping pera kasi, I don’t really wanna talk about it. I don’t think it’s ethical for me to talk about it. But it has never been the priority of mine — money,” he said in an interview.
While the multi-talented star agreed that money could be a valid reason – he clarified that he goes where he can find work.
“As I said, I’ll go where the work is, and I stand by that.” The returning Kapamilya star had been an exclusive artist of TV5 from 2013 until his contract expired in August this year.
Prior to his deal with TV5, he was a part of GMA-7 for 18 years. He also admitted that it wasn’t easy for him to decide where to go, due to the many possible directions he can take his career into.
“Hindi po kasi madali mag-decide especially when you’re at the crossroads of your career. Marami ka nang ginawa.” the singer said
Alcasid said he felt it was the ‘perfect time’ to return to ABS-CBN.
“Pero parang ito yung perfect time na ginawa ni God for me to come back. So, yun lang.”
