A viral video went off on the Internet showing a man claiming he and his group was being kicked out of a Delta Airlines aircraft for speaking in a different language.
Citizens from all over the world are enraged, seeking justice for the poor men who didn’t do anything wrong.
The 23–year old YouTube star, Adam Saleh, said that he spoke in Arabic for a few seconds, when one of the passengers who heard him told him that she felt “uncomfortable” while they were waiting for departure from London to New York.
The New York-bound aircraft staff and all the passengers inside then chided them to leave and go back inside the Heathrow Airport.
In the footage, Mr. Saleh was being escorted from the plane as he pointed out the passengers who were heckling him, yelling goodbye and waving at the camera.
“You guys are racist,” Mr. Saleh shouts in the video. “Six white people against us bearded men.”
Adam and his friend, Slim Albaher, were then re-booked to another flight later that day. Adam is a famous YouTuber with over 1.5 million subscribers for his practical jokes. Both are Muslim and American citizens.
What shocked the two New York-based filmmakers was how the passengers waved goodbye at them cheerfully, a part of the video most netizens were disgusted with.
Later that day, Delta Airlines released a statement regarding this incident. “We are taking allegations of discrimination very seriously; our culture requires treating others with respect,” Morgan Durrant said. Durrant is the official spokesperson of the airline.
A day after posting on Facebook, the video has been viewed for over 25 million in 12 hours, getting more than 525 thousand reactions and more than 800 thousand shares. People from all over the world expressed their disbelief and shock of such treatment from Delta Airlines.
Adam tweeted to his 250 thousand Twitter followers that he will go straight to his lawyer upon arriving in Manhattan.
