Renowned actor Dingdong Dantes admitted that he is against the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos to the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani. He expressed his disappointment over the Supreme Court’s decision to push it through.
On his interview with PEP.ph after the PEPtalk shoot last Thursday, November 10, Dingdong said that Marcos is not a hero.
But then again, the actor followed up that in the end, we should just respect the SC’s decision even if it’s not to our liking.
The Kapuso Star encouraged the people especially the youth to awaken their minds because now is the time to be aware of the social issues involving the country’s history.
“While we respect the SC decision, this should also serve as a wakeup
call for all of us, especially our youth, to revisit kung ano ba talaga ang mga values natin. Sa mga naniniwalang hindi dapat siya inilibing doon, hindi ito ang katapusan ng laban. In fact, mas mahalagang palawakin pa natin ngayon ang pangunawa sa kasaysayan, di ba? Huwag natin siyang gawing walang saysay. At nasa kamay natin ngayon bilang mamamayan na mas magpakita ng pagmamalasakit sa bayan, lalo na sa kapwaPilipino. Na hindi na maulit ang mga kamalian na dala ng nakaraan.”
