Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao recently dealt with the issue involving his giving off an “all-expenses paid” trip to PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa to watch his fight with Jessie Vargas to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Office of the Ombudsman believes that Dela Rosa may have possibly violated the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (Republic Act No. 6713) for accepting Pacquiao’s offer.
Amit the probing, the boxing champ defended Dela Rosa suggesting that the Ombudsman should rather focus on more important cases like the misuse of funds during the Yolanda.
Pacquaio also stressed that issues of graft and corruption should be on top of the Ombudsman’s priority cases since it’s a major problem of the country.
Referring again to his issue with the PNP chief, Pacquiao explained it was just a gesture from one Bisaya to another.
Pacquiao is hoping that the issue will soon be dropped.
