In “generation Z,” it is rare to see a person using vintage types of cellphones with VGA-resolution cameras. More and more, images become clearer than usual as technology continues to advance. And as curious human beings, we always aim to have the best of what’s new. The most common thing they first inspect is camera resolution, comparing brands to get the best deal.
The top 3 leading brands that sold globally during the 2nd quarter of 2016 are as follows: Samsung, Apple, and Huawei.
Seven participants, comprised of Instagram influencers and photography enthusiasts, have been invited to test out smartphone photography and the selected smartphones to be used were the Samsung S7, Apple iPhone 7 Plus and Huawei P9.
The rules of the challenge instructed that the participants were to shoot various subjects in different angles using the 3 smartphones they were given. They need to produce photos under 4 different categories: vivid, bokeh/depth of field, low light and monochrome/black and white.

The conclusion: the iPhone 7 beats the S7 and P9 in the lowlight category as 6 voted it to be the best in that area. As for most of the categories, namely the bokeh feature, monochrome and vivid portions, it is Huawei that took the lead. On the monochrome feature, Huawei finished a close second to the iPhone 7 Plus.
Bottomline, the test revealed a transparent and deeper look at the 3 smartphones. But who will be hailed the king of smartphone cameras?
The turnout
showed that the respondents in both surveys showed the same results with the Samsung Galaxy S7 as the least favorite for all of the features suggested. Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 Plus gets applauded for its excellent lowlight capacity.
It is Huawei’s P9 smartphone that grabbed the most wins in most categories and it seems that their partnership with Leica had a lot to do about this great feedback.
