The Philippine’s bet, Kylie Verzosa, claimed the Miss International 2016 crown in the grand coronation night held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan on Thursday.
The beauty queen impressed the judges with the speech she delivered after the announcement of the Top 15 finalists, saying that if she were to be hailed Miss International 2016, then she would focus on cultural and international understanding.
“If I become Miss International 2016, I will devote myself to cultural understanding and international understanding because I believe that it is in developing in each of us sensitivity to other cultures that we expand our horizons, tolerate difference and appreciate diversity,” she stated.
Verzosa’s win marks the Philippines 6th time to grab the Miss International crown. Bea Rose Santiago brought the title home back in 2013.
In turn, representatives from Australia, Indonesia, Nicaragua and United States got the first, second, third and fourth runner-up titles.
