Lawin (international name Haima) has already entered the Philippine area of responsibility as PAGASA said Monday afternoon.
Lawin is ocated at 1,155 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes as of 5:30 p.m. yesteday.
The typhoon might be a super typhoon as it packs maximum sustained winds of more than 220 kilometers per hour as it approaches the Philippine landmass.
In the latest weather bulletin, Lawin is packing maximum sustained winds up to 175 kph and gusts of up to 215 kph.
Cagayan, Isabela, Catanduanes and Northern Aurora have already been declared under signal number 1 with winds of 30 to 60 kph.
