Prior to the incident that alarmed the nation last Friday, September 2, in a night market at Davao City, Mayor “Inday” Sara Duterte calls for a new set of army and a police chief to take over the security and welfare of the Davaoneos.
The mayor already said that a newly appointed AFP Head is on its way to Davao. However, she is still waiting for the shortlist of possible PNP city director.
“I already talked to the high officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and I told them that I want new people and new ideas and the improvement of Davao City,” Duterte mentioned in a televised interview last Monday.
Together with PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, Mayor Sara came up with the shortlist.
Meanwhile, as for the Public Safety and Security Command Center, the hunt is over for a new head because retired army Gen. Benito De Leon is now appointed to handle the city’s safety effective Monday.
Mayor Sara offers a P2-Million reward for the immediate arrest of the culprits behind the tragic bombing in Davao.
“Kumuha ako galling sa city government – P1 million sa makakabigay sa pangalan at kung nasaan iyung tao ngayon and then another P1 million po sa makakapagdeliver sa amin nung taong iyun,” she said on an interview with ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda.
The Philippine National Police and the government continues to seek justice for the explosion as it counted at least 14 people dead, 68 injured, and 15 who are in critical condition, including a pregnant woman.
As of now, President Rodrigo Duterte declared a state of lawless violence for the whole country regarding the bombing, which he considers an act of terrorism.
