As the date of her delivery draws near, “Pinoy Big Brother” host Toni Gonzaga announced that she will take a leave from her hosting duties and prepare for the delivery of her first child with husband Paul Soriano.
In an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News on August 3 during her nautical-themed baby shower, the TV host-actress revealed she is set to give birth to a baby boy in September or early October.
She admitted that her biggest fear is giving birth so every now and then, she can’t help but feel worried.
As for the name of their firstborn child, Toni revealed they already have a list of names to choose from and Paul suggested that once the baby comes out, that’s when they should choose a name for him.
Aside from Toni, her PBB co-host and close friend Mariel Rodriguez is also on leave because of her delicate pregnancy.
In an interview aired on “Tonight with Boy Abunda”, Mariel extended her gratitude to the Kapamilya Network for understanding her condition.
She said: “I’ll always be grateful to my ‘It’s Showtime’ family, to my ‘PBB’ family, to ABS-CBN: Thank you so much. You don’t know how much it means to me na naiintindihan nila (that they understand). I’m fighting for my baby’s life so talagang karee-rin ko muna ito (I’ll be doing all that I can do).”
Mariel suffered two miscarriages last year.
Her first miscarriage was in March last year when she was eight weeks and three days pregnant. She suffered another miscarriage in August wherein she lost her triplet.
For her third pregnancy, she’s is undergoing heparin treatment to increase her chances of giving birth.
The PBB management still hasn’t revealed who will replace Mariel and Toni as hosts.
