President Rodrigo Duterte saw his action figures up close for the first time after toy maker Dennis Mendoza made a courtesy call in Malacañang last Wednesday.
A visibly elated Duterte held several mini-versions of himself, including a “Digong” donning checkered polo and jeans—the same clothes he wore during the campaign period. There was also a mini-”Punisher” holding a machine gun and wearing a black coat.
In celebration of Duterte’s victory, Mendoza also created a “President Digong”—the one in barong and khaki pants.
These Duterte action figures made a splash in this year’s Toy Convention (ToyCon) held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay last July 12. The cost ranges from P800 to P5,000.
