The story of a cabin crew member of Cebu Pacific have gone viral after she was slapped by a passenger because of her refusal to lift the woman’s baggage into the overhead locker. This incident is not the first, days before a passenger of Southwest airlines had the same complaints, she posted photographs in regards to the incident but was later on criticized.
Fact is, medical coverage of injury resulting from lifting luggage of passengers are not covered by most airlines, that’s why they are not obliged to do so.
The maltreated cabin crew posted online sending a message to both passengers and crews.
Any person who, while on board an aircraft, interferes with a crewmember’s or flight attendant’s performance of their duties, assaults, intimidates, or threatens any crewmember or flight attendant, shall be subjected to imprisonment from one (1) year to three (3) years or a fine of not less than Fifty thousand pesos (Php50,000.00) but not exceeding Five hundred thousand pesos (Php500,000.00), or both, as determined by the court;
