MANILA, Philippines – It will make you want to vomit.
Commenting on the list of government executives—including ranking police officials—allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar could only describe the high number as unbelievable and nauseating.
“What I know is that I’ve seen the matrix and the drug matrix of those who are highly, allegedly involved in the sale of illegal drugs. What I can only tell you, that if you see the matrix, you’ll probably say that it is really unbelievable that ganoon kadami, na ganoon kadami na ’yung mga involved,” the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him as saying. “Masusuka ka’ ‘pag makita mo” [You will vomit when you see it.]
Andanar added he was also saddened as he knows some of those in the list personally, saying they they are destroying the lives of millions of Filipinos by allowing the proliferation of illegal drugs.
The Communications Secretary also said President Rodrigo Duterte will soon release another set of names of those allegedly in the payroll of the country’s top drug lords.
“In time, I am sure that the president will announce the names of the other suspects, those other persons of interest,” he said.
Earlier, Duterte released the names of five PNP generals purportedly in the payroll of the country’s top drug lords.
The five he named were generals Marcelo Garbo, Edgardo Tinio, Bernardo Diaz, Vicente Loot, and Joel Pagdilao.
Aside from the generals, the president also vowed to reveal the names of local officials who are allegedly protecting drug traffickers in their localities.
