- In the recent SWS survey, former president Aquino received a ‘moderate’ +29 final net satisfaction rating
- This is half from the ‘very good’ +60 rating he received in 2010 as he assumes office
- Aquino has the highest satisfaction rating among recent presidents
Former president Benigno Aquino III, according to a Social Weather Station (SWS) survey, has the best net satisfaction rating at the end of his presidency in the 2nd quarter of 2016 as compared to other recent presidents.
The SWS poll, conducted from June 24 to 27 among 1,200 adult respondents nationwide, indicated that in Aquino’s final moments as president, he had a net satisfaction rating of +29 and classified as ‘moderate’.
Of 1,200 respondents, 57 percent were satisfied while 28 percent were dissatisfied.
However, as per an article published by Inquirer, his recent net satisfaction rating is significantly lower compared to when he assumed office in 2010.
Aquino received a +60, or ‘very good’ rating, in September 2010, months after taking oath in June of the same year.
His best net satisfaction rating by far was in August 2012 where the former president got a ‘very good’ +67 rating.
While he got his worst rating around the 1st quarter of 2015, where he got a ‘moderate’ +11 score. This was following the unfortunate Mamasapano clash, during which 44 Special Action Force (SAF) men were killed when police commandos clashed with Moro Islamic Liberation Front fighters and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters gunmen in Maguindanao.
Despite the fluctuation in Aquino’s score, his final satisfaction rating remains the highest among the other recent presidents, as per an article published by GMA News: Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo left office with a “poor” -17; Joseph Estrada had a final rating of “neutral” +9; Fidel V. Ramos had a “moderate” +19; and Aquino’s mother, Corazon Aquino, finished with a “neutral” +7.
