Aside from the five generals named by Duterte, Philippine National Police chief Dir. Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa has stated last Friday that at least 23 mayors over the country are allegedly part of illedgul drug trade.
He said in an interview with GMA’s 24 Oras, that these mayors should arm themselves because the PNP will hun them down. He did not drop the names of the mayors yet. Quoting from his statement, he said “”Nakakalungkot na malaman natin na may mga mayor na involved. I hope na ‘yung mga mayor na ‘yun nag-aarmas nang husto [para] makipag-giyera sa ‘tin.”
He also revealed that it will be the President who will announce the names of these 23 mayors once it gets validated enough.
“Marami nang nagte-text sa ‘kin kahapon. [Sabi ko sa kanila,] you clear your name dun sa nag-announce, dun kay presidente, ‘wag sa akin,” Dela Rosa added.
Recalling the five generals mentioned by Duterte, only retired police deputy director General Marcelo Garbo has not met with Dela Rosa. Last Thursday, Duterte revealed that it is Garbo who is allgedly protecting the biggest drug lords namely Peter Lim alias Jaguar, Wu Tuan alias Peter Co and Herbert Colangco.
The two latter names is currently detained at New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa. Co have been proven to spearhead the illegal trades in Luzon while Colangco have been in direct contact in China for supply. Duterte addressed them earlier saying “”Most of them are in the national penitentiary. This would show to you how corrosive and how, maybe, lawak, the dimensions of our problems regarding drugs,”
Meanwhile, with Lim who is out of the country, the President threatens him saying “”The moment he lands at NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport), he will die,”
Duterte noted that these people are beyond redemption and said “Since they are beyond their redemption, they can stop and commit suicide because I will not allow these idiots to run their show,”
