- Regala tells Geisler to move past vices and grab the chance to change
Actor John Regala, who was dubbed as one of the “bad boys” in the 1990s, offered some advice to fellow actor Baron Geisler, who has been involved in a number of altercations in recent days.
The 51-year-old Regala said that like Geisler, he also experienced getting into brawls during his youth but clarified that he only did so to fight back.
[For me back in the day, you would only get into a fight with me if you were the one at fault. I didn’t look for trouble but I accept some head-smashing. I didn’t back down],” Regala told the Philippine Entertainment Portal.
However, the older actor admitted that he also fell to some vices of his own and so reminded Geisler, who has faced controversy for cases of harassment and violence when intoxicated, to move on from such vices.
Regala’s career went on a hiatus due to his heavy drug abuse. He has since gotten himself to rehab and is now sober.
[We also passed through those kinds of vices. But like I said, vices are just there to be passed by, and not to be stuck in. In other words, if you see that it is doing harm to you, your family, and your life, leave it before it would be too late],” he said.
Regala, however, is hopeful that all would turn out well for the younger actor.
[As my son, Baron, please don’t think wrongly about my advice, son. The chance to change is always with you. Prove to yourself that what others are thinking is wrong. You will go far],” he said.
