Last Firday on June 24, the people living in the nearby coast of Barangay Gabut Sur rescued a wounded dolphin in the adjoining shallow waters of Badoc Bay. They did not waste time and immediately reported the circumstance to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
The rough-toothe dolphin was indentified to be 2 meters in length and weighed 30 kilograms and discovered to have injuries on its beak and back. And for its cause, the authorities are still trying to find out how in the world did the dolphin come to that kind of state.
As state by the provincial regulatory fishery officer, the dolphin apparently showed no signs of buoyancy and has a weakened body. They have also requested the villagers to keep their distance and lessen the noise that the animal may not go into further stress.
The officials have also been closely observing the dolphine’s condition. And according to the, it would be released as soon as it is stable.
