Actress Jessy Mendiola is this year’s ‘sexiest woman in the land.’
Jessy’s new title came as a result of the FHM Philippines’ public poll for the 100 Sexiest List which was conducted from April 1 to June 15, as disclosed by FHM via their Twitter account.
Last year, the 23-year-old sexy actress who has starred in many popular television shows such as ABS-CBN’s Maria Mercedes landed in 23rd place.
Lauding the actress for proving “that being sexy is beyond physical”, the magazine quoted one of the notes she wrote on Instagram which reads: “My body may not be perfect but that will not stop me from being confident with myself. We all come in different sizes and shapes but that shouldn’t stop us from being happy with our own bodies.”
She also wrote: “Whether you are curvy, malaman, skinny, too skinny, on the plus size, or even plus plus size, you have all the right to be confident with yourself because that is who and what you are.”
Jessy ended her post with: “If you don’t love yourself enough, who else will?”
Meanwhile, FHM managing editor BA Borleo said that the result is not a question of ‘why her’, but ‘why only now’; further adding that the result only proves that people find Jessy sexy.
“We’ve all spent time checking up on her—the ads, the TV shows, the movies, her posts on social media. This woman is everywhere, her followers number in millions, and now they’ve managed to put their idol on top of the FHM 100 Sexiest List,” Borleo said.
Editor-in-chief Allan Hernandez, on the other hand, is all praises for Jessy as he added on the latter’s FHM 100 Sexiest profile: “She bided her time, honed her craft, pushed herself to be better, and now she is.”
