- Donald Trump says he was right about his warnings on radical Islamic terrorism
- The US presidential aspirant said he appreciated the praises for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, but said he wants toughness and vigilance, not praises
- A lone gunman attacked a gay night club in Florida killing 50 people and wounding 53 others
Presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump said the Florida mass shooting proved he was right about his warnings against the radical Islamic terrorism.
Trump offered his prayers and support to the victims of the attack described by President Barack Obama as the most deadly mass shooting in American history. But National Post said in its article dated June 12, 2016, that Trump infused his sympathy with statements that favor his presidential aspirations.
The US presidential aspirant underscored his presidential campaign’s central message – that the United States needs to be tougher to combat Islamist terrorism.
Just hours after the shooting incident that killed 50 people and wounded 53 others after a lone gunman opened fire inside Pulse gay club in Orlando, Florida, Trump took to Twitter and tweeted about him being right about his warnings against the Islamic terrorism, but he does not want to be praised for it.
His tweet read: “Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don’t want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!”
Last year, Trump has called for a total and complete shutdown of US borders to Muslims in the wake of the San Bernardino, California terrorist attack on December 2, 2015 where 14 people were killed and 22 others were seriously injured.
Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, a top Trump surrogate according to NY Post’s Melissa Schultz, called for a tougher screenings of Muslims coming into the United States.
“It certainly looks like another one of the extremist attacks, Islamic extremism,” Sessions told Fox News.
