On Sunday, June 12, a Facebook page under the account name President Rodrigo Duterte shared a 1-minute-long video of president-elect Rody Duterte thanking those who have supported his call for change in the government. Duterte then proceeded to his promises during the election campaign and restated his pledge to improve the economy, supress crime, drugs, and corruption in 3-6 months.

“Magandang araw po, lalo na sa lahat ng Volunteers for Duterte sa pagbabago ng ating gobyerno. Inuulit ko po ang aking pangako sa inyo, na yung pang kabuhayan, economic side, ‘yung pagkain natin, lalo na sa dumadating na panahon ng El Niño, I have to worry about food that is available, and affordable. Mga kaibigan, susubukan ko po lahat ng aking makakaya para maabot natin ang (may remedy) sa ating pagkain and ekonomiya at higit sa lahat po, yung mapayapa na Pilipinas. I’d like to reiterate again that I will fulfill my promise. I’m giving myself 3 months – 6 months to stomp out corruption, I will suppress crime, and drugs must stop. Maraming salamat po.”
