Based on the tweet of DZBB Super Radyo, the former chief of Philippine National Police Alan Purisima was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Though there were no handcuffs, he was still arrested when he arrived at the airport from Butuan City via a Philippine Airlines flight.
The said arrest happened after two day when the Sandiganbayan issued the arrest warrants against Purisima. He, along with 10 others are facing charges of graft in line with the alleged anomaly in the courier service deal that the Philippine National Police got into back in 2011.
The court ruling read: “After judicious scrutiny and evaluation of the [case] Information and resolution of the prosecutor, the evidence in support thereof and the records of the preliminary investigation attached thereto, the Court finds that sufficient grounds exist for the finding of probable cause and the for the issuance of a warrant of arrest against all the accused charged in the instant cases.”
