Presidential hopeful Senator Grace Poe slammed the administration of President Benigno Aquino III for its inefficiency; saying the Filipino people are already fed up with its “Daang Matuwid” [straight path] policy.
The lady senator said the people have become disillusioned over the government’s failure to live up to the “Daang Matuwid” slogan.
“Ang mga tao ay sawang-sawa na, ang mga tao ay disillusioned dahil palaging idinidiin “daang matuwid, daang matuwid” samantalang nakikita naman natin ang serbisyo ay palpak sa maraming ahensya ng gobyerno,” Poe was quoted as saying by Inquirer’s Leila Salaverria.
[The people are already fed up. The people are disillusioned with the over-emphasis of straight path, straight path, while what we see is inefficient service from many government agencies.]
“Matagal ko nang pinupuna rin ‘yan. Nakikita natin na hindi nagiging prayoridad ang pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan. Kaya para sa ating mga kababayan, iniisip nila: ‘bakit n’yo sinasabi na napakabuti ninyo kung kinakalimutan n’yo naman kami?” she added.
[I’ve been looking at that for some time. We can see that the needs of the people are not prioritized. That is why our people are thinking: ‘why are you claiming you are great when you are neglecting us?]
Poe clarified that her remark is not directed to any particular person, but to the manner of governance.
In the latest survey conducted by Pulse Asia on April 26 to 29, Poe was overtaken by administration bet Mar Roxas in second place. Roxas got a rating of 22%, a 2 percentage points from previous survey, while Poe’s score dipped 1 percentage point to get 21%.
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte maintained his wide lead over his rivals. 33% of the 4,000 respondents picked him as their next president.
