- Kris Aquino stumps for Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo
- She promises to campaign in every corner of the Philippines for Roxas and Robredo
- She says PNoy did not ask her to campaign for the ‘RoRo’ tandem
MANILA, Philippines – A few days after she returned to the Philippines from her out of the country vacation with her sons Josh and Bimby, “Queen of All Media” Kris Aquino begins actively campaigning for the candidacy of Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas and his running mate Rep. Leni Robredo.
For the first time, the TV host-actress who has been endorsing Robredo but was silent about her presidential candidate stepped on stage during the Liberal Party campaign rally at the Meycauayan College Annex Gymnasium in Bulacan on Friday, April 15, wherein she vowed to campaign for the ‘RoRo’ tandem across the Philippines.
[This morning, I talked to my brother. I told him: ‘When you began in 2010, you had me. I campaigned all over the country for you. Now, to continue what you started, you can count on me to campaign in every corner of the Philippines for Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo.’]
She told the audience that President Aquino did not ask her to do it, and emphasized it’s her own decision to support the candidacy of Roxas and Robredo because as a mother, she knows we can trust the future of our children in the hands of the RoRo tandem.
Last February, Aquino shared on her Instagram that she chose to endorse Robredo for vice president; describing the Camarines Sur representative as ‘brave, simple, trustworthy and honest.’
However, she has been silent over PNoy’s endorsement of Secretary Mar Roxas as the Liberal Party standard bearer, which raised speculations that she might be supporting the candidacy of their longtime family friend Vice President Binay.
