• Sara Duterte dared Senator Trillanes to file a case against her and father Mayor Rody Duterte
• Trillanes alleged the mayor and his daughter has a joint account in BPI containing at least P211 million
• The senator said Mayor Duterte did not declare the amount in his SALN
Sara Duterte-Carpio, daughter of presidential hopeful Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, dared Senator Antonio Trillanes IV to file formal charges against her and her father over allegations of undeclared wealth.
Duterte-Carpio, or Inday Sara as she is fondly called by Davaoeños, dismissed as mere black propaganda Trillanes’ claim that she and her father have a joint account at the Bank of Philippine Islands branch in Julia Vargas in Pasig City containing at least P211 million.
Early this week, Senator Trillanes, a vice presidential candidate, claimed Mayor Duterte did not declare the amount in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).
As published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines, the submission of a SALN is required by law under Article XI Section 17 of the 1987 Constitution and Section 8 of Republic Act No. 6713, the “Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.”
Inday Sara, through a post in her Instagram account, dared the senator to file a case against them.
“Just file a case so that we will know whether you are telling the truth or not,” she wrote on Instagram on Friday, April 29.
“If he has a legitimate complaint, he should file it in court so we can answer properly,” Sara Duterte said in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Meanwhile, Mayor Duterte asked BPI Julia Vargas Branch to open his accounts in front of his lawyer Atty. Salvador Panelo and Senator Trillanes on May 2.
